“ We had fantastic dinner. Dishes were delicious and authentic. We were a party of Uzbek, Russian and Ukrainian folks, so we know what to expect. We ordered plov, yazik (tongue), bishbarmak, kale salad, beef uzbek salad, kebabs, lagman, and everything was fresh and yummy. Our waiter Natalya did a great job. We also took advantage of Aperol spritz special. They have live music as well. ”
“ this place is super cute! I loved all the little embroidery on the chairs and how welcoming and warm they make it. They have a large bar in the front with smaller seating and they have a room at the back for larger tables as well as private events if you want to throw them We tried the Manti and we love the pumpkin ones as well as the spinach. I would definitely come back for the kebabs. They were amazing. I also really love the herring in a fur coat. The one dish would pass on would be the dessert which was sort of fried noodles with ice cream. but I think everything else was outstanding. The service was really good as well. They have a very sweet young girl who explains all the dishes to you and answer your questions and helps you to decide what you would like especially if the food is not familiar to you. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back. ”
“ Amazing Uzbek Cuisine and Welcoming Ambience I recently dined at Farida and absolutely loved the experience. I ordered the Uzbek Pulao, lamb chops, and kebabs, and every dish was bursting with flavor. The Uzbek Pulao was beautifully delicious — the rice was aromatic, the carrots sweet and tender, and the fat from the meat soaked perfectly into the rice. The portion of meat could be a bit more generous, but the taste made up for it completely. The lamb chops were exceptional — juicy, succulent, and perfectly cooked. You get four pieces, and the salad underneath, soaked in the flavorful meat juices, was unexpectedly delicious. The kebabs were also excellent — tender, juicy, and full of flavor, not dry at all. For dessert, I tried the Mom’s Cake, and it was a wonderful surprise — soft, multilayered, and perfectly complemented by the honey drizzle on top. The ambience is warm and inviting, with beautiful lights and tasteful interior design. The staff were kind, attentive, and made the experience even better. Overall, Farida is a gem in Lower Manhattan — a must-try if you love authentic Central Asian flavors and great hospitality! ”
“ Nice space, different type of good decor. A bit on expensive end as compared to the portion size. Got the chicken kebab and Atlantic salmon grilled skewer. Chicken was fresh, nicely marinated and grilled. Salmon was well cooked but bland with no extra taste. Given the taste it is quite expensive at $32. Each grilled skewer contains 5 averages sized pieces. Also got the chicken puffs which were nice. Wish they could give better sauces with it. The almond orange zest crepe cake was very simple and refreshing. The staff is very accommodating if we want to celebrate a small cake cutting function. Overall a nice spot. ”
“ We tried a variety of dishes as it was our first time trying this cuisine and while all the dishes were flavorful and enjoyable, none of them really stood out to me. I’m not criticizing the food, just noting that it’s different than what I’m used to as far as the spices go. I would go back to try more dishes, although the price factor is a bit discouraging as the portions are way too small for their prices. The meat stew with the rice in the middle only had 5 pieces of meat in it and the stir-fried noodles had more vegetables than noodles itself. The decor and the ambiance was nice and we enjoyed the live music performance. ”
